From Fired, To Founder
The TV network that fired her would one day interview her as the expert.
Ren Karen Fischer was a model and host of the children's TV program What's Up Doc?, studying nutrition between filming while privately battling skin problems. When popular remedies failed, she created her own diet and supplement protocol, and has since spent more than 20 years as a nutritionist helping patients with skin disorders. Fischer could not find effective products to recommend to them, so she created Skin Friend.
In 2025, Nine News interviewed Fischer to discuss a university study involving her eczema diet and published research. It was the same network that once fired her.
