Natural Gentle Cleanser is a creamy cleanser powered by soapberry (Reetha), an ancient Ayurvedic cleansing botanical used to purify skin and pores gently and naturally. It's based on our bestselling cream 24-Hour Rescue, featuring apricot kernel oil, camellia seed oil and castor oil, and teamed with calming licorice root to soothe skin. With a low pH (4.5) to match the pH of healthy skin, this gentle wash supports the skin's natural barrier, acid mantle and biome, so your skin feels calm and refreshed, not stripped.
We collaborated with a biome-specialist manufacturer who advised on ingredients to avoid (like essential oils) and we utilised their award-winning, biome-friendly preservation system to create an effective cleanser that is truly barrier-safe, biome-friendly and 100% natural.
Then we tested several versions of the cleanser for 6 months on people with active eczema and TSW (the most sensitive skin types) and they agreed on a favourite and reported it felt soothing and cleaned perfectly in one wash, without irritation.

"Most commercial liquid cleansers have so many additives that leave a greasy, gooey, and thick texture, which is why I typically opt for a soap bar, but Skin Friend's Natural Gentle Cleanser is the only exception for me. It is so lightweight and water-based. The texture feels so smooth and after washing the cleanser off, it easily comes off my skin leaving it feeling fresh and anew. This is extremely important to me because most bar soaps or liquid soaps leave an unusual film on my skin, which is gross. In addition, most commercial soaps contain harsh added fragrances, parfum, and perfumes, which I immediately avoid because they trigger skin rashes, but the Skin Friend Gentle Cleanser has no smell. It is so neutral that I feel safe about using the product and I can trust it. Overall, I like the lightweight texture, the neutral no-smell, how easily it washes off, and the feeling of cleanliness afterwards, without leaving my skin dry (which is moisturisation magic)!
